The owner of this home had become concerned that the Palo Verde tree that towered above it might one day fall. This tree showed no obvious signs of disease however Palo Verde can be prone to losing branches during storms. The first significant branch that we removed confirmed the owner's concerns. Typically a branch cracks once we've cut through roughly half of it. In this case the branch positioned over the roof cracked after cutting just 20% into it. The branch had grown so heavy that its internal structures could barely support the weight it carried. Sooner rather than later this branch was going to crack and fall onto the roof. Most likely this would have occurred during a severe weather event.
